SASSA July 2026 payment dates
Updated: 01 June 2026
July 2026 grant payments proceed on schedule. Gold card holders: only two payment cycles remain before the switch to the new black Postbank card closes on 31 August 2026. Postbank has said the cut-off will not be extended, and gold cards stop working after that date. You can swap your card at a Postbank site, Pick n Pay or Boxer store with your ID - there is no charge, so do not pay anyone for a replacement.
SASSA gold card to black card switch: what you need to do ↗SASSA pays grants over the first working days of July 2026 as follows. Old age pension pays on 2 July 2026, disability on 3 July 2026, and children's grants on 6 July 2026. Your money stays in your account - no need to collect on the exact payment day.
The Fourth Payment Day - 7 July 2026
Grants are normally paid over three days, and SASSA reserves a fourth business day - Tuesday, 7 July 2026 - for beneficiaries who have been identified for a grant review or eLife Certification. This is not a delay or a separate grant: it is the payment date for people in that group.
SASSA notifies affected beneficiaries by bulk SMS before the payment run. If you get one, take your South African ID and any documents named in the SMS to your nearest SASSA office and complete the review as soon as you can. Leaving it undone can get the grant suspended in the next cycle, and cancelled if it stays unresolved. If you did not receive an SMS, your normal date above applies.
SRD R370 Payment Date - July 2026
SRD R370 (Social Relief of Distress, also called SC19) is paid in batches between 24 July 2026 and 31 July 2026 on business days. Unlike pension and disability grants, SRD does not have a single fixed date - each person's date depends on their application batch. After your batch is processed, funds reflect within 2-3 business days.

When Does SASSA Pay?
SASSA pays grants over the first working days of each month in a fixed order: old age pension (Older Persons Grant) pays first, disability grant second, and children's grants (child support, foster care, care dependency) on the third payment day. This is why the three dates in the table above fall on consecutive working days. SRD R370 follows a separate schedule in the last week of the month.
If a public holiday falls in the payment window, SASSA shifts all dates forward to the next business day - the confirmed July 2026 dates above already account for any such adjustments.
Where to Collect Your July 2026 SASSA Grant
You do not have to collect on the exact payment date. Your funds stay in your account until you withdraw them. Going a day or two after payment day avoids the longest queues.
Allpay Dates for July 2026
If you searched for “Allpay dates”, the July 2026 dates are in the table above. “Allpay” was a company that distributed SASSA grants until 2013 - the name stuck as everyday shorthand for SASSA payment day, particularly among older grant recipients. The community cash pay points that used to be called “Allpay points” were officially closed by SASSA in 2024.
Today, grants are paid via your Postbank card and can be collected at any ATM, Post Office, or retailer (Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Boxer, Checkers). There are no dedicated Allpay pay points any more - see the collection options above for where to collect your July 2026 grant.
